Announcing a Wonderful New Class: K9 Nosework     This class is a great outlet for their natural hunting and scenting abilities.  It can be done anywhere, thus a new sport for dogs living in any setting is now available.  K9 Nose Work is open to dogs of all ages to dogs with physical limitations and to reactive dogs or dogs with environmental sensitivity, giving them much needed self-confidence and, best of all, They LOVE it!!!  The instructors Mary Wallschlaeger and Sue Ruesch are certified to train this program according to the concepts, principles and guidelines set forth by its founders and the National Association of Canine Scent Work (NACSW) Regular Classes offered: PUPPY CLASS   Mon 6:00pm-7:00pm  January 9, 2012 6 Week Class $60 PUPPIES under 6 mos. old Covering sit, down, stay, come, attention, socialization, housetraining , puppy biting, bite prevention, praise, controlled walking, fear, jumping up, crate training, basic grooming, barking, Leadership training,  health issues. BASIC  OBEDIENCE CLASS Monday, January 9, 2012 7:00pm -8:00pm 6 week Class  $60.00 Covering Basic obedience, sit, down, stay, come, attention.   This is for older dogs, either just from Puppy class, or wanting to learn basic obedience.

Rabies Yearly 1st year and then whatever vaccine your Vet uses
Bordetella  or Kennel Cough   Not routinely given so please check
Your papers for this one- You must specifically ask for it.
Negative Fecal test results,  Or if the sample you take to the vet
Is positive, then being treated for the parasite

Who is theTRAINER?

TRAINER, CHRIS OLSON is the Owner of APPLEWOOD, where we Groom, Board and Train dogs and owners.   Chris has shown in Conformation, Obedience, and Agility Trials.   She has earned titles in all three venues of AKC, UKC, and NADAC.   Nanuk, her Alaskan malamute, won a High in Trial in Obedience and was the Top Alaskan Malamute in the country for AKC Excellent Agility in 2002.   Nanuk had 19 titles in obedience and agility. 

Mackintosh, a Norwegian elkhound, was a breed Champion in the US and Canada.   He had a Best in Show win and was the Top Norwegian Elkhound in AKC Open Agility in 2002.   He had 12 titles in obedience and agility.   At present, Chris is training a rescue German Shepherd Dog, Moxie and 4 Norwegian Elkhounds, Ida, Iris, Izzy, and Gitchee.   Moxie has 13 titles at this time.   Ida has her  Breed Championship  & has 1 obedience title.  Izzy is an AKC  and Canadian Breed Champion and working in rally right now.   Iris is in Excellent  agility now, she has one Rally  title., and half of her breed points.

Chris’ favorite part of training is watching the progression of the dogs in classes from the 1st class to the last.   The bond that develops between the dogs and the owners is priceless.
